Translated letter:

I Raymond Gauzbert, son of the woman Persoven, swear to you (s), my lord Raymond Berenguer, count, and to your wife, Dulcia, countess, and your son, that from this hour forward I shall be faithful to you (pl) on your life and your bodies and the members that are held in your bodies, and your honor which you have today and will, God granting, acquire in the future; and I shall aid you (pl) to hold and defend and wage war for all your honor against all men or women.  And with the castle of Arraona, I shall give you power as many times as you ask me through yourselves or through your [man] or your messengers; and I shall not refuse to be summoned or seen.  These things, which are written above, I said Raymond shall keep faithfully to you (pl) and to him to whom you (s) count Raymond leave Barcelona in your will or by your words.  So God help me and these holy [relics].

Original letter:

Historical context:

Oath of Raymond Gauzbert to Raymond and Dulcia for the castle of Arraona.  Earlier, Raymond Berenguer had had to absolve others from their oath and homage for Arraona because the documents could not be found (see Kosto, Making Agreements, 148, 243).
