A letter to Stephen Bedoc

Translated letter:

Chirograph, divided by letters of the alphabet in the side margin, in which it is stated -- in the year 1171 from the incarnation of the Lord – that Guillelma, viscountess of Nîmes and Agde, gave two dwellings situated in the tithing of Calvitio, in a place that is called Aureola, to Stephen Bedoc of Orneze, and his successors, to receive according to the usual conditions.  “Witnesses of this are:  William Benedict, Peter of Ochau and three others.  Peter the Small, commanded by both sides, wrote it.”

Chirographum, per litteras alphabeti in margine laterali divisum, quo constat, -- anno ab incarnatione Domini M.C.LXXI, -- Guillelmam, Nemausensem et Agathensem vicecomitissam, duas bozigas sitas in decimaria de Calvitione, in loco qui vocatur Aureola, Stephano Bedocio de Ornezes ejusque successoribus ad acaptum, solitis conditionibus, donasse.  – “Hujus rei sunt testes:  Guillelmus Benedictus, Petrus de Ochau et tres alii.  Petrus Petiti scripsit, mandatus ex utraque parte.”
